Albus and Minerva The Early Years is a fanfic published on fanfic net which attempts to follow Albus' and Minerva's relationship from their very first meeting, right through to when they become lovers and beyond. As such it's probably going to be very long, and will doubtless take some time to complete since I have other thngs to do too.

The story begins as eleven year old Minerva arrives at Hogwarts for the first time, and will initially describe her school years. Initially the emphasis will be mainly on humour, though there will be other elements too, new friends and enemys, new lessons to be learned, and of course a certain sparkling eyed Transfiguration Professor. I hasten to add that no romance takes place untill Minerva has graduated.

Note others may be added during Minerva's third year, when new subjects are studied by the students. Note after much research and assistance from other people I had to invent some staff members or use guess work as to who might have taught then. Please remember that there isn't a lot of information about who taught during Minerva's school years, and what there is is sketchy.

Headmaster, Armando Dippet.

Deputy Headmaster and Professor of Transfiguration, Albus Dumbledore.
I know that having Albus as Deputy Headmaster at this time may not be absolutely canon, however I felt that for my story to work he needed to be Deputy Headmaster. Please bear in mind that this is fanfic, and that I will be deviating from canon when it suits the story or me to do so.

Head of Ravenclaw and Defence Against The Dark Arts, Galatea Merrythought. Thanks to PiER of the Albus and Minerva forums for suggesting her. Though it's not canon that she is Head of Ravenclaw, I felt that it would suit my image of her that she is Head of Ravenclaw.

Head of Hufflepuff and Herbology Professor, Herbert Beery.
Suggested by SakiJune of the Charming Roots Forums, many thanks. Very little known about him other than what's in Beedle the Bard, so I've had to invent a persona for him based on that. Not canon that he's Head of Hufflepuff, but it seemed to fit.

Thanks to MMADfan of Charming Roots Forum for reminding me of him, it's easy to forget the ghostly Professor Binns since most people tend to sleep during his class lol.

School Healer, Calendula Culpepper.
A character invented by me, since the healer at this time isn't known. Her name is inspired by the herb Calendula which has great healing properties and is traditionally used in herbal medicine. Her surname of Culpepper is inspired by the famous herbalist Nicholas Culpeper, who wrote a book about herbs in the 1600's. Calendula is a distant ancestor of his, and very proud of it too.

Flying Instructor, Salamander Swoop.
Another invented character, male with bright red hair.

Charms, Verity Verbascum.
Another invented character, Verbascum is a tall thin garden plant which waves around in the wind, and Verity means truth. She is a Ravenclaw, and somehow to me truth and intellect seem to go together in some ways.

More Professors will be added to this list as I come up with ideas for who can teach the other subjects. Among the staff I still need are professors of Astronomy, Divination, Ancient Runes, and Arithmancy, not to mention a Librarian.
